Building Bridges of Hope
Restoring Citizens was born from our desire to create a ripple effect of positivity, transforming lives one kind gesture at a time."
Our Story
Restoring Citizens was founded in 2018 by two individuals who had been sentenced to life in prison but were granted parole, alongside an ex-street gang member.
The creation of the organization was driven by a need in San Diego for reentry services that were not being addressed at the time.
With a deep understanding of the struggles faced by individuals transitioning from prison back into society, the founders brought their personal experiences from prison gang lifestyles and the dangerous environments of California’s most notorious prison yards.
The team’s unique insight into the challenges of the criminal lifestyle fuels their dedication to helping others break free from a cycle of violence and crime.
